Tools to Help You
Cope, Connect & Communicate

Learn to Manage Emotions and Set Boundaries

If emotions often feel overwhelming, relationships leave you exhausted or impulsive reactions get in your way, you’re not alone. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills can help whether you're navigating intense emotions, managing anxiety or depression or working on healthier boundaries.

Build Emotional Resilience in Community

You don’t have to figure this all out by yourself.

Our DBT skills group is a structured, supportive space where you’ll learn practical tools to better manage emotions, navigate relationships and create a more grounded, intentional life. Whether you feel emotionally overwhelmed, struggle with boundaries or find yourself stuck in patterns that aren’t working, this group offers a path forward.

At Tate Psychotherapy, our DBT group is led by trained, compassionate therapists who expertly blend learning, skill-building and community.

You are not too much. You are learning how to hold your feelings with care—and that’s a skill worth practicing.

What You'll Learn in Our DBT Group

Mindfulness

Learn how to slow down, stay present and respond rather than react. Mindfulness is the foundation of all DBT work. It helps you observe your thoughts and emotions without judgment.

Emotional Regulation

Develop skills to identify, name and manage overwhelming emotions without becoming consumed by them. You’ll learn how to reduce vulnerability to emotional spirals and increase positive emotional experiences.

Distress Tolerance

Build resilience in the face of crisis or intense emotional pain. These skills help you survive tough moments.

Interpersonal Effectiveness

Practice tools to ask for what you need, set healthy boundaries and navigate conflict while preserving relationships and your well-being.

Inside the DBT Group Experience

Our DBT group is more than a lecture. Think of it as a learning lab. Every session is a blend of structured support, learning and time to practice. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Review of key concepts and skills to keep you grounded in your learning
  • Guided practice using real DBT strategies
  • Opportunities for reflection and discussion with group members
  • Real-life examples to help you apply what you learn outside the group

This isn’t a process group or freeform discussion. Each session follows a clear curriculum and is led by a trained DBT therapist. You’ll receive handouts, engage in experiential practice, and have the opportunity to reflect on how these skills apply to your daily life.

Groups are small, safe, and inclusive. While it’s not a process group, many participants say they find comfort in the shared experience and appreciate practicing skills in community. Sessions are led by licensed therapists who are deeply trained in DBT and committed to helping you build a life that feels more stable, intentional and empowered.
